Somersal Herbert Hall.

An outstanding Grade 1 Elizabethan listed building.
The manor has been in the hands of the Fitzherberts of Norbury since before the 13th century
but has now been sold out of the family and is a private residence.

Built in 1564 by John Fitzherbert it incorporates an older Great Hall of about 1500.

Additions were made in 1712 and 1850 but these have not detracted from the character of the house.

There is still a priest's hole in the house.
